A 33-year-old woman has allegedly killed her husband that she married 8 years ago. The incident which took place in Zumbagwe, a remote community in Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State happened after the woman, Janet Ekpe, accused her husband, Sunday Ekpe, of having an affair with her best friend, Hellen.
According to the woman, they were happily married at first and God blessed them with two kids, but things took a bad turn since the birth of their second child. Their interesting sex story which made them have sex everyday, anywhere in their house turned to a casual thing that happened in once months. The accused added that her husband, who could take the day off at work, just for them to have sex throughout the day started giving excuses that sex is not food and that she should fantasize about the past if she had urge to have sex.
She said, “When we got married eight years ago, sex seemed to be the only thing on my husband’s mind. He was always in the mood.
“We would make love three or four times before morning, and when he woke up, he would be ready to continue.
“There were days he skipped work and we would spend the whole day making love.
“We had sex in the bathroom, in the kitchen and anywhere it caught our fancy in the house.
“I became used to constant sex through him and also became the envy of my close friends, including my best friend who he later fell in love with.
“Whenever we shared stories of our exploits in bed, my friends felt I had the best man and jokingly begged me to allow them to have my husband just for a day because their husbands could not satisfy them in bed.
“But shortly after we had our two kids, I began to notice his disinterest in sex with me and his performance level began to drop.
“While we were having sex on a regular basis before, it came down to two times in a week and later became so bad that we could stay for three or four months without making love.
“Initially, I was not bothered because I felt that he would come around it after the babies were weaned. But I was wrong. He began to starve me of sex for months on end.
“It got to the point that I would be begging him to sleep with me but he would rebuff my requests.
“At times, he would tell me I should relive the moments we had sex every day and wallow in that fantasy.
“When I pestered him further, he told me he was no more interested in sex as he had had enough to last him a lifetime.
“He even told me that sex is not food and that if I felt so sex starved, I should get a man to satisfy me.
“I reported the matter to our church and the pastor summoned him, but he could not convince our pastor.
“I reported the matter to his parents in the village and some of his relations around, but he ignored their invitation.
The story got worse when Janet found out that her husband was having an affair with her widow friend, Hellen. He was busy satisfying hellen while Janet kept feeling sex starved at home. She added that she felt like single mother and the fact that he was doing that with her best friend, hurt her the more. When she was sure that he won’t change nor consider her feelings, she decided to poison him and cut his manhood in order to show why she killed him.
“I used to love and trust my husband but he turned me into something I never knew I could become: a murderer. I killed him. I poisoned him and watched him die in our bedroom, painfully.
“I mixed a deadly, colourless, tasteless and odourless substance in his meal and drinking water which destroyed his intestines immediately.
“He cried and struggled uncontrollably after taking the meal. He gave up after an hour and I used a sharp blade and knife to chop off his penis, place it on his chest as evidence of what killed him.
Meanwhile, the deceased brother, Mr Adakole Onoja, confirmed that Ekpe lived a dangerous life. He said that while the woman might not be right for killing him, he said she is a human being too and that may be how God has destined Ekpe to end his life. All efforts made to reach out to Hellen proved futile till the time of filing this report.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed all commands of the Force to implement a comprehensive plan to reduce crime rates by 50 per cent in 2025.
He gave the directive at the 5th Edition of the Annual Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Abeokuta on Monday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the programme is with the theme ‘Improving Nigeria’s Internal Security and Economic Prosperity Through Inclusive Policing.’
Over 1,000 senior police officers are attending the three-day conference, which runs from Feb. 24 to 26.
Egbetokun noted that the theme aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s security vision and reinforces the commitment to tackling insecurity.
“The theme highlights the President’s plan to build a professionally competent, intelligence-driven police force capable of addressing emerging threats proactively,” he said.
According to him, intensified operations and cooperation with the military and other security agencies are yielding significant results in the fight against organised crime.
Also speaking, Chairman, Niger Delta Development Commission, Mr Chiedu Ebie, urged the Federal Government to conduct periodic evaluations and vetting of police officers.
“A regular and comprehensive health check, including psychiatric assessments, must not be overlooked,” he said.
He also commended the police for their efforts to improve security in the country.
“However, Nigerians do not always appreciate the police force enough.
“As it stands, only 370,000 officers are responsible for the security of over 230 million people,” he stressed.
He promised that the commission would support the police in all capacities.
A senior police officer, speaking anonymously to NAN, said many commands are implementing the directive to reduce crime by 50 per cent.
“This is why the country is witnessing a higher rate of prosecutions in the courts,” he said. (NAN)

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, says he will resign if the current APC state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, is re-elected.
Ata made this statement at a press conference in Kano on Monday. He reaffirmed his position, stating he would resign from both his ministerial role and the party.
He said, “This is my position to this day. We oppose the reinstatement of the current APC leadership in Kano, given what happened in the last election.
“We will not accept this situation again. If the leadership remains, I will resign from my ministerial post and leave APC.
Ata emphasised his strong moral values and respect for elders, noting, “We will not compromise our values.”
He expressed concerns over the party leadership’s statements, which he believed contributed to the party’s failure in 2023.
“We must engage individuals of integrity to gain the trust of Kano citizens,” Ata stressed.
He said, “Votes and money do not grant power; only God bestows authority.”
