JUST IN: 5 people escape isolation for COVID-19

Governor Adbdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state disclosed in a meeting with traditional rulers and religious leaders at the Lafia government house yesterday that 5 plateau indigene have escaped isolation for COVID- 19 in Nasarawa state.

The governor disclosed this in his opening remarks, and he explained in details the plans of the government in collaboration with Plateau state government to isolate anyone coming from Lagos and Kano state for 14 days due to the alarming increase rate of COVID- 19 in the country.

He explained that while the bus conveying the passengers to the isolation centre stopped at Forest Village area, a boundary between the state and Nasarawa, on their way to Jos, Plateau State, 5 of them took to their heels. The governor however added that 13 of them who claim to be from Nasarawa were already on their way back to Lafia, Nasarawa state for isolation.

The governor disclosed as while that 43 persons that were returning from Lagos were intercepted in Akwanga, on their way to Shendam, in Plateau State and that they’ve been transported to Jos where they are isolated.
