JIST IN, IPOB moves against Nnamdi Kanu, suspends offices held by its leader

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Office of the Leader of IPOB and the position of Director of Radio Biafra, both previously occupied by Nnamdi Kanu.

The separatist group disclosed the decision in a statement, describing it as part of ongoing administrative and organizational adjustments within the movement.

According to the Directorate, the suspension will remain in force pending further notice.

“The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Office of the Leader of IPOB and the position of Director of Radio Biafra, both of which were previously occupied by Nnamdi Kanu. The decision, according to the group, will remain in effect pending further notice,” the statement said.

While the group did not provide detailed reasons for the move, it noted that additional information would be released at an appropriate time.

The development represents a notable change in IPOB’s internal structure, given that both positions have historically been closely linked to Kanu, who remains one of the movement’s most prominent figures.
