BREAKING; Three Senators to decamp to APC after Aso Rock meeting with President Tinubu
In a major political development, three serving senators from Kebbi State have announced their defection from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators, Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South) declared their intention to join the APC following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
Their defection was facilitated by APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who led the lawmakers to the meeting.
The move marks yet another high-profile defection in a growing wave of political realignments favouring the APC in recent weeks.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris; Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.
