Chemist allegedly defilled, murdered nine-year-old Girl
A chemist in Jaba, Fanisau Unogo local government area of Kano State, has allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl, Rumaisa Sadiq, an incident which resulted in the lose of her life
The incident took place when Rumaisa’s father brought her to the chemist for malaria treatment.
The chemist, whose name and age are withheld, advised that she required an intravenous (IV) drip and recommended that the father leave her in the chemist’s care until the treatment was finished.
He reportedly seized the opportunity of the father’s absence to rape the girl which led to her death.
Meanwhile the Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Disabled and Children, Hajia Aisha Saji, while confirming the girl’s death during a condolence visit to the victim’s family vowed to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
She said: “Despite attempts to derail the case, the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf is committed to bringing the perpetrator to book.
“There must be justice for the little girl who lost her life simply because someone chose to display his animalistic instinct on her.
“In fact, full and quick dispensation of justice in this case is necessary in order to serve as a lesson and deterrence to others like this grown up person that carried out this merciless act against an innocent nine year old girl.
“The Kano State Government will follow up the case in court to a conclusive end,” she stated.
