“Why I joined armed robbery” – Lady gang member opens up

A certain Mrs Ebele Uji Chinonso 39-year old after being nabbed alongside fellow “One chance” robbery gang, Samuel Alilu aged 35 and Nonye Agu aged 38 by men of Niger State Police Command, claimed frustration led her into robbery.

While admitting to her crimes, the suspect claimed that all her trials to thrive in business yielded negative results and she was tempted to go into robbery afterwards.

The last of her attempts according to her was going into buying and selling, which turned out to be the same old story.

This and the other issues she had with people whilst trying businesses made her conclude that robbery is the only option for her.

She did so by joining the One chance group and they have been executing their robbery business along Zuba to Madalla road of Niger state for about 5 years.

According to sources, a certain Mary Ozarieze Joseph was one of their latest victims. She reported the issue to the police, explaining how she was pushed down by one of the occupants of the vehicle before they reached their destination (Madalla). She also added that the vehicle zoomed off with her belongings- a purse containing Infinix Hot 4, Tecno Spark 3 mobile phones and N10,000.

Speaking on the matter, the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the news, adding that the suspects have confessed to their crime and that they would be arraigned once investigations are finalised.
