We dont need sitting Governor to mobilise for President Tinubu ahead of 2027
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said that political leaders in Rivers State are fully capable of mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu without relying on any sitting governor.
Wike made this known on Saturday at the commissioning of the Port Harcourt office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group operating in the state.
According to him, the organisation is driven by conviction rather than directives from political officeholders. He stressed that its members have the structure and leadership needed to function autonomously in their support for the President.
“We are working for President Tinubu. We don’t need a governor to mobilize us. We have what it takes to operate independently. We have senators, Assembly members, local government chairmen, National Assembly members, and party chairmen of both APC and PDP,” Wike said.
The minister explained that the group’s activities are rooted in personal commitment, not external influence, noting that genuine political support must come willingly.
“We have mobilized ourselves to demonstrate our commitment because true support doesn’t need to be brought by someone you have to make the commitment yourself.”
Wike further described the gathering as evidence of unity among Rivers State political actors, adding that their collective action shows a deliberate and proactive decision by local leaders to stand behind President Tinubu.
