A devastating thunderstorm has left the Obidi community in Agwa, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, in mourning after it claimed the lives of three people and left four others severely injured.
The incident unfolded unexpectedly after a mild evening rainfall, catching residents by surprise.
“It wasn’t even a heavy downpour—just a light drizzle,” said one local resident.
“Then suddenly, lightning struck and killed three people on the spot. Four others were badly hurt. We’ve never experienced anything like this before.”
The shocking event has triggered widespread fear and confusion throughout the community, with many struggling to understand how such a deadly outcome could follow such seemingly ordinary weather.
