Three [3] officers injured by hoodlums after Immigration officer allegedly slap Local Government Chairman

3 operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Oyo State Command, have reportedly sustained bodily injuries after they clashed with some Politicians in Ibadan, Oyo State.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that one of the injured Immigration officer is Mr. Olufemi Adetunji, the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service, Oyo State Command. It was learnt that the incident occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Trouble started when one of the immigration officer slapped the Chairman of Ibadan North Local government area, Mr. Shuaib Yusuf Oladayo.

Following the assault, it was gathered that the Politician and some of his aides brought some hoodlums who attacked the Immigrations officers by hauling stones and other dangerous missiles at them.

Seeing that they were out numbered by the hoodlums, the Immigrations officers took to their heels, however, they were hurt by stones that were thrown at them.


Meanwhile, a source who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that Mr. Adetunji and 2 other officers of the command were still nursing the wounds they sustained during the clash.

The source said, “The PRO was injured. Him and two of the officers were injured when they were trying to evacuate our vehicles. The two officers were with the PRO.”

“They destroyed our vehicles too. I can narrate what happened to you but do not quote me, “he said.

Mr. Adetunji when contacted by Journalists to narrate his own side said, “We are paramilitary. We cannot just make statements like that. There will be an official statement.”
