TENSION; Trailer carrying spare parts set ablaze for ignoring IPOB’s sit-at-home order

There was tension in the Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, as hoodlums suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), set a truck carrying motorcycle parts ablaze.

According to reports, it was gathered that the hoodlums carried out the alleged attack due to the failure of the Drivers to obey the Monday sit at home directives by IPOB.

It was learnt that the incident occurred around 6:00 am on Monday at Eluagu Obukpa, in the Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Residents leaving in the area told newsmen that the truck which was heading to Enugu-Ezike in the Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state was coming from Nnewi, Anambra State.

It could be recalled that IPOB, in a statement by its Spokesman, Emma Powerful, in the month of Aug. 2021, had declared every Monday a sit-at-home day in the South-East to demand the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, due to pleas from several quarters in the region, especially from parents, the Sit at home order was suspended. One of the main reasons for its suspension was to enable Students from the region continue their NECO examination.

Meanwhile, in some states such as Imo, Abia and Enugu, residents have continued to remain indoors on Mondays, for fear of harassment from hoodlums who are said to be enforcing the order.
