Suspect arrested as Police begins probe into death of Singer Destiny Boy
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect following the death of popular Nigerian Afrofuji singer Afeez Adesina, widely known as Destiny Boy.
According to the police, a full investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the 22-year-old artist’s death.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, disclosed this development in a statement issued on Monday.
The statement reads, “The Ogun State Police Command has since commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
News of the singer’s death, which occurred on Sunday, has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with fans and colleagues expressing shock and sorrow over the sudden loss.
Confirmation of his passing came from fellow singer Bolisco, an associate of controversial musician Portable.
Bolisco revealed that Destiny Boy had been unwell prior to his death.
He further disclosed that the late singer reportedly suffered severe symptoms and was said to have vomited blood before he passed away.
