State Police may clash with Federal Police if established — Fed Govt warned

Former Senator Shehu Sani from Kaduna Central has reiterated his opposition to the creation of state police.

In a recent post on his X handle, he expressed concern over the potential for conflict between state and federal law enforcement agencies if state police forces were established.

Sani highlighted the risk of clashes between state and federal police forces, emphasising that such conflicts could arise in disputes between different levels of government.

His remarks come in response to reports indicating that President Bola Tinubu and various state governors are exploring the option of implementing state police as a solution to Nigeria’s security issues.
