Soldier allegedly killed as gunmen ambush Military officers

Bandits have attacked a team of Soldiers at Zurak Kampani community, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to locals, the bandits, arrived the community when residents were involved in market activities.

The Zurak Kampani community is more than 100 kilometers away from the LGA headquarters.

Major Ishaku Takwa, the spokesperson for the state’s multi-security taskforce, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), maintaining peace and order in the state, confirmed the ambush but said no soldiers were killed.


However, Abdullahi Usman, a Wase town resident, told newsmen that the bandits killed one soldier and injured another.

He stated that the soldiers stationed in the area repelled the attack.

It was gathered that a day before the ambush, bandits stormed Pinau village of the same LGA, and rustled over 500 cattle.

Wase communities have been experiencing banditry activities in recent time, forcing many to flee their homes.
