Pregnant Woman dies with Baby as Doctor allegedly performs surgery with YouTube video

A Doctor in Imo State is accused of performing a Cesarean Section (C-Section) using a YouTube video, which sadly resulted in the death of a pregnant woman.

A C-section is a medical operation in which the uterus and abdomen are cut open to deliver the baby.

In a social media video, the woman’s husband, Onyekachi Eze, expressed his sorrow and said he had visited the Imo Police Command on Tuesday to report the occurrence.

He was accompanied by popular Nollywood producer, Stanley Ontop.

Eze identified the hospital involved as Lebechi Hospital, located in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, where the tragic event occurred. The incident has raised serious concerns over medical practices and the safety of patients in the region.

Narrating the incident, Eze said, “I carried my wife to the hospital when she was in labor, and the doctor said she needed to undergo an operation because she was bleeding.

“So the female doctor called another doctor to come and operate on her. Right in my presence, they were using their phones to watch a YouTube video on how to perform surgery, and I lost my wife and my baby during the process.”

Shortly after the report, Stanley shared an updated video showing how the owner of the hospital was arrested by the police after the doctors absconded.

Captioning the video, he wrote, “The owner of the hospital where doctors were watching YouTube on how to perform surgery on a pregnant woman has been arrested. Nurses were arrested too, but the doctors who performed the surgery had absconded. They are still being searched for.”
