Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has been officially appointed as the new Alaafin of Oyo, following the approval of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, confirmed that after extensive consultations and divinations, the Oyomesi (traditional council) recommended Prince Owoade for the revered position, which was subsequently approved by Governor Makinde.
A Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur and project management expert, Prince Owoade has built a career that spans both local and international borders.
After completing his secondary education at Baptist High School in Saki, Oyo State, he pursued a path in engineering, earning diplomas in Mechanical Engineering from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
He furthered his academic journey in the United Kingdom, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University, respectively.
Additionally, he attained certification in Project Management (PMP) in 2015.
Prince Owoade’s professional career has seen him take on significant roles, including serving as a Planning Engineer at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow and currently as a Project Coordinator at Manitoba Hydro in Canada.
His career accomplishments reflect his leadership, steadfastness, and unwavering loyalty—qualities that make him a strong and visionary leader.
