President Tinubu grants automatic employment to four children of late HoS

President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Dr. Grace Adayilo, who until her passing served as Head of Civil Service in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The announcement was made by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during her funeral service held on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja.

The ceremony was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends who gathered to pay their final respects.
Calling her passing a “painful loss,” Wike lauded Adayilo as a devoted, humble and hardworking public servant whose impact on the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, would not be forgotten.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr. President, I extend our deepest condolences to her family.

“The President has instructed that her four children be offered automatic employment, understanding that the family has lost its breadwinner,” Wike stated.

Wike praised Adayilo for her outstanding contributions to public service, noting her commitment to timely payment of workers’ salaries and entitlements, as well as her impact as a trusted mobilizer within her community.

He urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from her example, stressing the importance of living a life of purpose and service to both God and humanity, especially in a world filled with uncertainty.

Colleagues and loved ones at the funeral described Adayilo as a compassionate leader and maternal figure, whose career was marked by integrity, dedication, and a deep concern for the wellbeing of others.
