Policeman captured in viral video with billionaire Businessman’s Son arrested for misconduct

The Nigerian Police Force has detained one of its officers following the emergence of a viral video showing the officer in the company of Wahab and Raheem Okoya, sons of billionaire businessman Chief Razaq Okoya.

The officer was seen holding bundles of naira notes while the Okoya brothers appeared to engage in activities deemed disrespectful to the national currency.

A statement released by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday revealed that disciplinary actions are already underway to address the officer’s misconduct.

The force condemned the officer’s actions as unethical and a breach of the core values upheld by the police.

In the controversial video, Wahab and Raheem Okoya, dressed in white agbadas, are seen proudly displaying stacks of N1000 notes.

As the footage progresses, the brothers are shown tossing the money into the air, while the police officer, a mobile policeman, is seen holding the bundles.

The incident has sparked widespread public outrage, with many criticizing the inappropriate handling of the national currency.

The Nigerian Police Force has since assured citizens that it is committed to maintaining the integrity of the force and will take stern measures against any actions that tarnish its reputation.

The statement read, “The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the Lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action.

“The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police. Thanks.”
