One dead, 2 kidnap victims freed as Police bandits engage in shootout

The Kaduna State police command has rescued two kidnap victims just as they have killed their abductors who are bandits terrorisning Daku village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This was disclosed by the Onah Sunny, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, in a press briefing yesterday in Kaduna.

The DCP said the bandits stormed the village at midnight on Wednesday and kidnapped one Dauda Sani and his brother.

“When the police were informed about the incident they swung into action and intercepted the bandits and engaged them in a gun battle, neutralised one bandit and rescued Dauda Sani and his brother who is receiving treatment in the hospital.

“Due to our superior fire power the bandits ran away and left six of their motorcycles,” he said.

Onah Sunny disclosed that other exhibits recovered were two AK 47, 34 live ammunition, three techno phones, rechargeable MP3 torch light, Charm jacket and N268,000.

He urged residents to provide the police with timely and credible information to save life and property.
