One Police officer was killed as unknown gunmen kidnapped four Chinese workers on Wednesday, 22 July 2020.
According to sources, the names of the kidnapped workers’ were given as: Kan Jinxi, Hujinchang, Jiang Jijun and Cheng Qing.
Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the state, Irene Ugbo confirmed the incident. He said the Command headquarters had mobilized men of the anti-kidnapping and cultism squad as well as mobile Policemen to Oban community in Akamkpa Local Government Area (LGA) of the state in search of the kidnappers.
The victims were kidnapped at the premises of Danatrite Construction Company in Oban, Akamkpa LGA. It was reported that armed gunmen stormed the company early Wednesday morning, the armed men shot and killed one Sgt. Ifere Sampson, who served as security guard for the company.
