Kidnappers break into residential apartment, abduct father, son at gun point

Armed men suspected to be kidnappers, on Friday, Sept. 3, broke into the residence of Mr. Abdullahi Benda. According to reports, it was gathered that the gunmen abducted Mr. Abdullahi and his son, Jibrin Abdullahi Benda, and took them to an undisclosed location.

The incident, CRIME CHANNELS learnt
occurred in the early hours of Friday, at Yangoji village in Kwali Area council of Abuja.

Speaking on the development, a neighbour who identified himself as Zakari, said that the gunmen gained entry into the compound by jumping the fence.

He said, “In fact, one of the kidnappers was even standing at a window at the back of my room shooting into the air, because it is a fence that separates us with the victim.”

“The other members of the gang jumped over the fence and entered the house. The kidnappers forcefully destroyed the doors and went into the room and whisked away the man and one of his sons at gunpoint.”


He added, “They attempted whisking away the man’s wife, but they later spared her after discovering that she was nursing a baby, “the source said.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT police command, ASP Daniel Y. Ndiparya, when contacted by Journalists, confirmed the abduction.

He said that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims from their captors.

“Yes, we are aware and efforts are being made by the command to rescue the victims,” he said.
