JUST IN; Woman reportedly killed inside Church
Misfortune befell a 47-year-old woman identified as Rachel Johnson recently as she was stabbed to death at a church in Ikotun area of Lagos.
The woman reportedly met her untimely death, while separating a fight between members of the church.
Reports say that the woman’s husband, Okerube Johnson, reported her death at the Ikotun Police Station on Saturday.
The man told the police that his wife had gone to the church for a crusade, but ended up separating a fight during which she met her death.
An officer in the station, while recounting the report the man made, said: “He told us that while she was separating the fighters, one of them stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object. And she started bleeding.
“She was immediately rushed to Igando General Hospital. But all efforts to revive her proved abortive as she bled to death.
“Her body was deposited at Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy.”
When contacted, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said: “The suspect is still on the run. We are yet to make any arrest at the moment but efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing perpetrator.”
