A landlord simply identified as Mr. Monday, has been stoned to death by his tenant. According to reports, it was gathered that the incident occurred in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area in Delta State.
Confirming the killing, a resident of the area who described the incident as shocking and unfortunate said it occurred on Monday, Aug. 23, at a street in the Hospital Road area of the community.
He said, “The landlord, by name Monday, went to collect his house rent from the tenant and in the process, an argument broke out between both of them.”
“In the heat of the argument, the tenant hit the landlord’s head with a stone; the landlord collapsed and died on the spot”.
Another source, however, said that the Landlord had gone to his tenants to collect their contribution for the electricity bill.
“An argument ensued between both of them leading to the tenant hitting the landlord’s head with a stone. He fell and died instantly, ” the source said.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State command, Mr. Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident. He said that the culprit has been arrested.
