JUST IN: Suspected cult members allegedly hack student to death

Unknown men suspected to be cultists have beheaded a Student of Kwara State Polytechnic. The victim identified as Olawale, who was alleged to be a member of another cult group, was said to have been killed on Tuesday, in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to reports, the rival gangs ambushed him few minutes after he left his house on Tuesday. It was gathered that the victim’s head was found around Unity roundabout in Ilorin after so many searches from the victim’s aged mother.

While the head has been found, the whereabout of the corpse is still yet to be ascertained.

The mother of the victim said, “Olawale left home past 8 on Monday morning. But when he didn’t return on time which was unusual of him, I called his number several times but there was no response.”

“We now decided to report at the ‘A’ Division police station and also go to his school and search hospitals if perhaps he had an accident.”


“However, it was while searching for him that we saw some persons gathered around a spot around Unity, taking pictures.”

“It turned out to be the severed head of my son,” the mother who couldn’t control her emotions said.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said that his men were working tirelessly to apprehended the persons that carried out the killing.

While noting that the killing was indeed carried out by cultists, he said that the victim was also a member of a notorious cult group.
