Police officers must be banned from drinking alcohol – House of Reps
Following the cruel murderer of the Lagos woman lawyer by the happy trigger Assistant Superintendent of Police, the House of Representatives has called for the prohibition of consumption of alcohol drinks by police Officers.
The lawmakers said the men in uniform should also be banned from other hard substances capable of inhibiting their sense of reasoning.
This followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by Babajide Obanikoro.
It was on the need to investigate the killing of a lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem, and a young man, Gafaru Buraimoh, by policemen in Lagos.
The House expressed concern that a policeman from the same station had earlier killed Buraimoh.
It is worried that such occurrences happen across Nigeria and that the officers usually get away with shooting and killing the same citizens they swore to protect.
