President Tinubu smarter than Peter Obi, Atiku, El-Rufai others – Famous PDP kingpin
Segun Sowunmi, former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, has described President Bola Tinubu as more politically astute than his main rivals, including Atiku and Peter Obi.
Speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television, Sowunmi addressed questions about his recent visit to President Tinubu, dismissing assumptions that the meeting signaled disloyalty to Atiku or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
When asked if he had informed Atiku before meeting Tinubu, Sowunmi replied that he didn’t need permission to engage in political discourse.
“I am at liberty as an adult to take decisions. I am not tied to anybody. I am not anti-Tinubu. I own my mouth, I own my words, and I own my arguments.”
Sowunmi praised Tinubu’s leadership style, describing him as more strategic and adaptable than his political opponents.
“Do you know the difference between Bola and them? He doesn’t have one approach to dealing with everybody. By miles, he (Tinubu) is smarter than them. He is smarter than Peter Obi, he is smarter than them.”
Pressed further on whether Tinubu surpasses Atiku in intellect, he reaffirmed: “He’s smarter than them.”
Explaining the purpose of his visit, the former Ogun governorship aspirant said he has had a longstanding relationship with Tinubu dating back to 1994.
He added that their discussion focused on understanding why opposition parties often blame Tinubu’s administration for their internal issues.
