I didn’t collect N1.2 billion Security Vote – Governor cries out
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has firmly denied claims that he receives N1.2 billion monthly in security votes, calling them “lies from the pit of hell.”
Aiyedatiwa addressed the allegations in Akure, the state capital, during a governorship debate hosted by Channels Television and its partners, where candidates outlined their visions for Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa and his main rival, PDP candidate Agboola Ajayi, who both previously served as deputy governors under the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, are competing in the November 16 election.
During the debate, Aiyedatiwa challenged Ajayi’s assertion about the security vote, dismissing it as baseless and urging his opponent to verify facts before making public claims.
“You can’t play politics by falsely accusing someone of receiving N1.2 billion in security funds,” Aiyedatiwa asserted, though he declined to disclose the exact amount allocated.
The governor clarified that all government expenditures are outlined in the budget, emphasising his administration’s commitment to staying within budget limits. He called on the PDP candidate to avoid spreading misleading information.
