Police operatives attached to Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended a teenage house wife, Aisha Muhammed, for allegedly placing a hot iron on
the private part of her 5 years old step-daughter.
According to the Police, it was gathered that the housewife had inflicted such injury on the child because she urinated on her bed.
Confirming the crime, the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa, DSP Suleiman Ngutoje said that it occurred on Thursday, July 1, in Wuro Patuji village, Mubi South Local Government Area of the State.
He said, “Investigation revealed that the suspect, who is the second wife to the victim’s father, committed the offence by using a hot iron on the girls’ privates, tortured and inflicted injury on the baby.”
“The wicked stepmother was arrested by the Police in Mubi South local government area following a report received from Aisha Abdullahi, the mother of the victim and Barrister Khadija Nasir, a female lawyer.”
Suleiman revealed that the victim has been under the care of her step mother, the suspect since her own biological mother was sent packing.
He added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Aliyu Adamu has directed the Police to conduct an investigation, which after the suspect should be prosecuted.
Meanwhile, the PPRO said that the victim is currently undergoing treatment in a General Hospital.
