Guber Aspirant taken to Hospital from Police custody

A Peoples Democratic party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo, has reportedly been hospitalised following his detention by police operatives in the state.

It will be recalled that the state government had last Thursday ordered the police to arrest the man having declared him wanted a day before for allegedly disrupting the PDP screening of aspirants for State Assembly positions in Port Harcourt, the state capital last Wednesday.

The man’s arrest was reportedly backed by the verdict of the magistrate court in the state capital, which ordered him to be remanded in police custody pending their investigation into his matter.

But a statement by his media aide, Ibrahim Lawal, on Wednesday says the man complained of stomach and chest complications.

Lawal said it was the health problem that informed the admission of his principal at the hospital, where he has been receiving treatment.

The statement Wednesday read, “Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital by the Police. He complained of stomach and chest complications. He is receiving treatment now.

“Update will be given as the situation goes on.”
