Forum backs another Governor ’s planned Defection from PDP to APC

The Taraba State Unity, Progressive and Reconciliation Forum has declared its full backing for Governor Agbu Kefas amid reports of his likely defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a communiqué released on Wednesday, the forum described the development as a “welcome development,” saying the governor’s expected move demonstrates his unwavering dedication to Taraba’s growth and the well-being of its people.

“We welcome His Excellency’s decision to join the APC as a step that will enhance progress and development in our great state. The governor’s leadership and experience will be invaluable assets to our party,” the statement read.

Signed by Chairman Ibrahim Waziri and Secretary Sani Tulu, the forum urged Governor Kefas to join the APC “unconditionally,” advising against any preconditions that might contradict the party’s values or objectives.

It also pledged the group’s total support for the governor, assuring him of cooperation from members committed to advancing the state’s development agenda.

“We wish to assure the governor that he will be received with open arms and given the necessary support to contribute meaningfully to the APC’s mission of building a better Taraba State,” the communiqué stated.

The forum called on APC members across the state to welcome Governor Kefas and his supporters in the spirit of unity and reconciliation, stressing that cooperation among stakeholders was vital to achieving shared goals.

“The Taraba State Unity, Progressive and Reconciliation Forum reiterates its readiness to work with the governor and the APC leadership to pursue shared goals and objectives. We are confident that this development will usher in a new era of progress and development in Taraba State,” the forum added.
