Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan safe, departs from Guinea-Bissau in special flight – FG
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has safely departed Guinea-Bissau following recent political unrest in the country.
Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the development in an interview with journalists in Abuja, noting that Jonathan left the West African nation on a special flight.
“Former President Jonathan is very safe and out of Guinea-Bissau,” Ebienfa stated. “He departed with a special flight, accompanied by members of his delegation, including senior diplomat Ibn Chambas.”
Jonathan had traveled to Guinea-Bissau on a regional assignment but cut his visit short due to the unfolding situation, ensuring the safety of himself and his team.
