El-Rufai administration to be probed for abuse of office money laundering

The Kaduna State House of Assembly had set up a special committee to look into all the money, loans, and contracts that were given out when Nasir El-Rufai was the governor, and present their findings to the house.

Henry Zacharia, the leader of the special group, gave a report during the main meeting on Wednesday. The report said that many loans taken while El-Rufai was in charge were not spent the way they were supposed to be, and sometimes, the right steps weren’t followed.

When Yusuf Liman, the leader of the Kaduna House of Assembly, got the report, he said El-Rufai’s government got a total of N423 billion, which left the state with lots of money troubles.

So, the committee suggested that El-Rufai and others who did wrong things be investigated and taken to court by security and anti-corruption groups. They said this was because they gave out contracts without following the rules, moved public money around, and got Kaduna State into big debt.

The group also said the Finance Commissioner, Shizer Badda, who worked with El-Rufai, and the head of the state education board, should be stopped from their jobs.

They asked for a big investigation into many important jobs that El-Rufai’s government did by experts in law enforcement and anti-corruption.

The Kaduna State House of Assembly’s group had the job of examining loans, gifts, and projects from 2015 to 2023 when El-Rufai was governor.
