NSCDC trains its personnel on weapon handling, cautions against misuse
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, has trained 106 personnel on proper handling of pistol.
This is contained in a statement by the NSCDC FCT Spokesperson, Monica Ojobi on Monday in Abuja.
According to Monica, Monday marked the end of a two-week Intensive Pistol Management Training Course for the 106 personnel.
She said that the training was a reaffirmation of the corps’ commitment to manpower development, professionalism, discipline and quality service delivery.
The spokesperson quoted the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Dr Olusola Odumosu, while addressing the trainees, as saying that the training will further sharpen the officers’ pistol handling skills
Odumosu urged them to adhere strictly to the rules governing the use of firearms and the corps maintained zero tolerance for accidental discharge.
“In NSCDC, we do not condone accidental discharge, it is the height of professional misconduct and we do not take lightly to such misconduct. You must be accountable and ensure professionalism at all times.
“The training will further reinforce operational efficiency in the protection of lives and all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
“The public is not our enemy, you must observe the rules of engagement, act with restraint and remember that you are deployed to protect lives and infrastructure, not to intimidatecitizens,” Odumosu stressed (NAN)
