Deadline Day: Arsenal reveals transfer plans

Arsenal’s Sporting Director, Edu, has said the club is now set to trim down Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad.

Arsenal has been active in the transfer market, spending over £200 million this summer.

In the process, the Gunners brought in the likes of Declan Rice from West Ham and Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

Jurrien Timber also joined the Gunners for £45m from Ajax, while goalkeeper David Raya arrived from Brentford.

“Now we are talking about trying to balance the squad a little bit better,” he said after the Champions League draw on Thursday.

“We keep talking to a few clubs, but so far, we are really happy with the transfer window
