COVID-19: Robbers attack Isolation center, stole equipment

According to reports from ZWnews, robbers allegedly broke into Ekusileni Medical Centre, Bulawayo in Zimbabwe at 4 am on Tuesday, and they stole equipments from the hospital.

According to the news, the equipments that got stolen by the robbers were things that well wishers donated to the hospital in order to battle the deadly COVID-19. It was however stated that a compressor, borehole components and other things were stolen by the robbers during the operation.

The police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said that investigation is ongoing but no arrests has been made so far.

He explained that the police was informed about the incident, which took place around 4am on Tuesday morning. He also pleaded to members of the public that have any meaningful information that can be used to nab the perpetrators, to please share it with the police.


However, while addressing newsmen, Bulawayo acting provincial medical director, Dr Welcome Mlilo, explained that the hospital authorities are still trying to access the value of the stolen equipments.
