Commissioner’s house attacked, properties destroyed by suspected political thugs
The Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Osun State, Nathaniel Agunbiade’s home was attacked early on Monday.
According to information obtained by newsmen, hoodlums suspected of being political thugs attacked Erinmo Ijesa town and vandalized his properties and many cars.
Several of the Commissioner’s aides were also reported to have been injured while attempting to repel the attackers.
An All Progressives Congress (APC) member who preferred anonymity revealed that the attack on the commissioner could be linked to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s victory in Saturday’s Osun gubernatorial election.
He also claimed that hoodlums who had previously operated underground had suddenly surfaced and taken to major towns in the state to destroy property and attack APC members.
Earlier attempts to get the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, to respond were futile because she did not respond to her call.
Opalola in response to a text message however said that the Police command was not aware of the incident.
