BREAKING; Two female armed robbery suspects arrested by Police

Two female armed robbery suspects, alongside 41 others which include a female child trafficker, has been apprehended by the Abia state Police command.

The command said that the suspects were arrested in the last six weeks.

The State commissioner of Police, Abia CP Janet Agbede, disclosed this information in Umuahia, the State capital. The CP said apart from the three females who were apprehended for armed robbery and child trafficking, the remaining 40 were male, she said they were arrested in different parts of the state.

She said their crimes ranges from kidnapping, murder, car theft to armed robbery, cyber crime, cultism, rape and other ill social vices.


Agbede, revealed that out of the total number of suspects arrested by the force, two of the suspects were hired assassins, three were kidnap suspects, armed robbery suspects were a total of seven, one of the suspect, a female, was a child trafficker, while the rest were arrested for alleged cultism.

CP Agbede said the modus operandi of the ladies was that they would ask a motorcyclist to take them to a particular point, but when they would get to where their male collaborators hid, they would pretend as if they had reached their destination, they would ask the motorcycle operator to stop and immediately the unsuspecting bike operator would be disposed of his motorcycle at gunpoint.

As for the child trafficker, Ihechi Ugbonna, the CP said she entered the house of one Benjamin Christoper, disguising herself to be the mother of his two little girls, thereby taking them out, unknowingly to her, some boys playing outside caught her, and alerted other youths who immediately rescued the little girls from the imposter who posed to be their mother.

Agbede said all the suspects would be arraigned after police investigations, she also used the medium to urged young men and female, including elderly people to desist from crime, adding that if they are caught, they will be prosecuted.
