BREAKING; Suspected gunmen attack Police Station, two [2] officers shot dead others injured
Two Police officers have been shot dead during an attack by gunmen on Obowo divisional Police headquarters in Imo state.
CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the Police headquarters located at Umulowe autonomous community area was attacked on Friday night, at about 8:30pm.
It was learnt that three Police officers were also injured during the attack on the Police formation. According to reports, the three officers were trying to repel the men from gaining entrance.
The gunmen were said to arrive the scene with a car and while trying to gain entrance into the facility, the Police put up a resistance which angered the gunmen, and they opened fire in the officers.
It was learnt that one of the suspects was shot dead by Police operatives, however, his corpse was taken by his gang members.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, when contacted, said that 2 Policemen were killed by the hoodlums, and that 3 others were seriously wounded.
He said that the Command is investigating the matter and that Police are working tirelessly to make sure that the hoodlums are arrested and prosecuted.
