BREAKING; First Electric Motorcycles arrive Nigerian markets [PHOTO]

Nigerian logistics startup company, MAX.ng has finally launched its electric motorcycles, the Max M1 series for the Nigerian market.

The Max M1 series were introduced in the Gbamu Gbamu community of Ogun State in South Western Nigeria to ease transportation and boost economic activities in the state.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, CEO, MAX.ng, Adetayo Bamiduro said: “the introduction of the electric motorcycles is in line with our commitment to make mobility safe, affordable and sustainable.”

He stressed that MAX.ng’s electric motorcycles had been in the works for over two years culminating in a successful pilot after which improved models of the motorcycles were deployed.


According to Bamiduro, MAX.ng is in partnership with Rubitec Nigeria Ltd. a renewable energy company, to provide charging stations for the motorcycles.

The CEO, said the electric motorcycles use a battery-swap model that allows riders replace their depleted batteries with fully charged ones.

He also said that the Max M1 fleets of electric motorcycles were the first in the country, he said despite his company being in partnership with an asian or a European company, he noted that it was an indigenous electric motorcycle.

The Baale of Gbamu-Gbamu community, Chief Kehinde Adekunle was also in attendant during the unveiling of the first electric motorcycles, he expressed appreciation on behalf of the community.

The Baale said that it was a good development, he also said that the motorcycles would enable traders move their goods from one place to another at a faster pace, and a subsidized fee.

Speaking at the unveiling, Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer, Mr Chinedu Azodoh, said the electric motorcycles are very durable and cost effective compared to combustion motorcycles, he also said it was made in Nigeria for Nigerians.
