BREAKING: 7 hoodlums with firearms arrested at Edo Assembly

Seven suspected thugs in connection with the unease going on in the House of Assembly in Benin City have been arrested by the Edo State Police on Thursday.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the suspected thugs had prevented the 17 elected lawmakers from entering the Complex for plenary early on Thursday.

However, the lawmaker later held their meeting at an undisclosed location in Benin city, where they appointed a new Speaker, Mr Victor Edoror, and impeached Mr Frank Okiye.

The thugs identity was given as, Festus Agbonrenren, Odion Osayande, Ogbeiwe Wilfred, Morgan Uwaigboe, Osayomore Salami, Ifeoluwa Oladele, and Iginobaro Collins.


Weapons recovered from them include, five double-barrel long guns, two single barrel long guns, and ten live cartridges.

When contacted, the state Commissioner Mr Johnson Kokumo, said he was busy and couldn’t speak.
