APC shuts National secretariat after gunmen kidnapped murdered Party Director

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has temporarily shut down its national secretariat, often referred to as “Buhari House,” in response to the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.

Adeniji, who had been kidnapped several weeks ago, was reported to have been murdered last month, though the details of his death were only made public recently.

It was revealed that despite ongoing negotiations with his kidnappers over a ₦50 million ransom, his captors had kept the information about his killing hidden, continuing to demand payment for his release.

The shocking news has sent ripples through the APC as party officials, colleagues, and well-wishers mourn the loss of a key member of their leadership team.

The APC memo, titled “Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration,” urged all staff to use this period of mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the family and loved ones.

It reads; “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025.

”This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration Late Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.”
