Again bandits on rampage; several dead as gunmen raid villages

A fresh attack in Maradun Local Government Area of the state, has left more than a dozen persons dead.

CRIMECHANNELS reports that more than 20 lives were lost in the violence in the Maradu LGA, which happens to be the hometown of the Hon. Bell Mohammed. The attack is coming after the Governor of Zamfara state said armed banditry will become a thing of the past.

According to eye witnesses who fled the scene to Gusau, the state capital, the attack was very terrible and gruesome.

One of the natives who survived the chaos, said he couldn’t count how many villages were attacked by the bandits.

He said he was afraid for his life and that of his family, that he had to run away, leaving some of his possessions behind.

A young woman, who identified herself as Aisha explained that the killings were still serious in Zamfara, she also said that while the attack was going on, there was no single security operative who came to help chase the bandits.

“I don’t know why some people are still saying that the security operatives are working when bandits are still killing thousands of innocent people in Zamfara state.”

“It looks as if the state and the federal governments are sleeping over the issue of security. If they allow the bandits to kill all of us in the state who will vote for them,” she lamented.”
