2027 Presidency: Stop opposing Atiku, group tells Bode George

The Nigeria Youth for Atiku (NYFA), a youth-based support group for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has urged a former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to stop opposing Abubakar.

The group’s Director of Communications, Mr Dare Dada, made the appeal in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.

According to his, George’s constant attacks and campaign against Abubakar towards 2027 is becoming unbearable.

Dada said that George’s media statements against Abubakar, remained inconsequential and should be ignored.

He advised George, the PDP Board of Trustees life member, to dissipate energy at fixing the party internal crisis especially in Lagos State.

” The general opinion across the country is focused on how to rescue our country from the doldrums, and with Atiku the chances are very high,” he said.

Lamenting the current state of PDP in the nation, Dada urged the party top leaders to end envying and discords in order to brighten the chances of the party.

“We want elders to be busy and be preoccupied with how to save the soul of the party and its accelerated dwindling fortunes rather than focus on attacking Atiku.

Dada said that only Atiku Abubakar could wrestle power from the ruling party.

“No one can not stop an idea whose time has come . Atiku is an idea whose time has come,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that George has maintained that Abubakar, the 2023 Presidential Candidate of PDP, should not contest for the party’s flag in 2027 because it would still be turn of the South to produce the nation’s president.

George said that the party must stick to its power rotation grundnorm between the North and South to win in 2027, hence the need for PDP to allow a younger mind from the South to be the flagbearer. (NAN)
