I have nothing to do with PDP,  NNPP – Peter Obi douses merger plans with Atiku, Kwankwaso

The former Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has dismissed reports of ongoing merger discussions with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), or any other political group.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday morning, Obi clarified that no such agreement has been made.

The former governor of Anambra State emphasized that there are no talks underway with any political party regarding a merger, reiterating his commitment to the Labour Party’s principles.

Obi also addressed the pressing state of the nation, urging Nigerians to unite in preparation for the 2027 elections with the goal of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He expressed deep concern over the nation’s deteriorating security situation, labeling it as “tragic.”

Reflecting on the results of the 2023 presidential election, Obi acknowledged the victory of Bola Tinubu, who secured the highest number of votes, totaling 8,794,726—almost two million votes ahead of his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.
