Three armed robbery suspects have been arrested by Policemen in Ogun State.
They are Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun.
The arrest was carried out at Idanyin, a community in Agbara, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of the State.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the develipment in a press statement on Sunday.
According to the Police Spokesperson the incident occurred on May 24.
“The suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded idanyin community, raiding houses and dispossessing residents of their belongings, while also inflicting of injuries on them”.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO , Agbara division, SP Saleh Dahiru, quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the residences of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide”.
Accorsing to him the suspected armed robbers launched an attack on the Police on sighting them.
However, Oyeyemi hinted that they were overpowered by the superior power of the Police, leading to the arrest of three members of the gang, while one of them escaped.
Items recovered from them, were two locally made short guns.
“The injured victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention,” Oyeyemi said.

Mr Wilfred Afolabi, Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, has condemned the attack and arson on the divisional police station on Sunday in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of the state.
Afolabi also ordered a full-scale investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident and to bring those responsible to justice.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) on Sunday in Akure.
The PPRO said the CP had visited Ifon for an on-the-spot assessment of areas affected in the attack by some members of the community.
Odunlami also said he met with the chairman of the local government, community leaders and other stakeholders in the community.
She said that preliminary reports indicated that the incident began on February 15, 2025 when a dispute between two families at Ogbomo Street, Ifon, escalated into a public fight.
The PPRO explained that officers from Ifon division, led by an inspector, responded promptly, moved to the scene, intervened, and made arrests while some suspects fled.
“Later, one Tobi Bobade, one of the young men involved in the fight, was brought to the station by one Mr Losilosi.
“He (Bobade) appeared weak and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention., he was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
“His remains have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for a post-mortem examination.
“While officers were at the station, an angry mob, led by the deceased’s father, launched a violent attack on the station.
“The administrative office, Divisional Police Officers (DPO) office, the station store and two (2) exhibit vehicles were affected in the inferno caused by the mob.
‘Fortunately, no lives were lost in the fire as security personnel acted swiftly and called for reinforcements to secure the premises,’ she said.
Odunlami, however, said that the CP, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), commiserated with the family of the deceased.
The PPRO also said the CP condemned the attack on the station, as he vowed that such acts of lawlessness would not be tolerated.
According to her, the CP has assured that all those responsible for the criminal act will face the full weight of the law.
“Members of the public should remain calm and refrain from taking the laws into their hands. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as investigation progresses,” she said. (NAN)

In a startling development, angry young people in Ifon, a border town in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, have set fire to a police division.
The terrible death of a young man who was allegedly tortured to death while in police custody is followed by the devastating crime of arson.
Although the incident happened on Saturday night, the specifics were still unknown as of Sunday.
Sources within Ifon, which lies close to the Edo State border, revealed to Daily Trust that the young man’s death sparked a wave of protests from locals and friends of the victim.
The unrest is believed to have been triggered by an earlier confrontation on Valentine’s Day.
When news of the death spread, angry protesters gathered and marched to the police station, where they overwhelmed law enforcement personnel in a tense and highly charged atmosphere.
The situation escalated quickly, with the station being set ablaze by the furious crowd.
In response to the escalating violence, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event, stating that additional police units had been deployed to Ifon.

The lifeless body of a Police Inspector identified as Haruna Mohammed has been found dead in a hotel room in Ogun state.
It was gathered that the inspector attached to Ishashi Police division in Lagos State, had arrived with a woman to Super G Royal hotel, located at Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute, at about 1:00 am on Saturday.
The hotel manager, Deborah Adejobi, reportedly found their room unlocked at about 8:52 am, and on checking inside, she discovered the officer lying lifeless, while the woman was nowhere to be found.
According to a police memo detailing the situation report, the hotel owner, Abiodun Olagunju, reported the incident to the command, adding that the fleeing woman had earlier visited the reception at about 6:00 am to request table water.
His body has been removed and deposited at Life Channel Mortuary in Olambe.
Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said: “At first, it was the uniform found in his bag, so it was not possible to say he is a police officer. There was no identification card on him or his belongings.
“But further investigation revealed that the deceased is an Inspector of police serving with Ishashi division in Lagos command.
“The DPO have been contacted and his body identified.”
Odutola said operatives of the command have launched a manhunt for the fleeing lady, while investigation is ongoing to unravel circumstances surrounding his death.
